Participant Profile: WE Design
Introducing our first of many participants: WE Design!!
WE Design, aka Williams-England, is the brainchild of locals Jamie England and Marcus Williams. In two short years, the duo has kindly performed workshops and a wealth of both web- and print-based services — pro bono and packaged explicitly for nonprofit communities in Atlanta and beyond.
As Jamie England states:
There is never a shortage of things we want to be involved in or create. We try to prioritize and dedicate our time to projects that are important to us and will hopefully make a difference.
In the summer of 2008, WE Design Atlanta launched FORM: Artistic Independence, a published collection of creative works from 100 Atlanta-based artists, photographers, artists, graphic designers and others in the local arts community.
Or, in the words of Marcus Williams:
This book not only benefits artists and designers, but all those aiding artistic awareness which enriches our environment with all the ‘forms’ that make Atlanta an amazing place to live, create and be.
More about WE Design:
WE Design Atlanta is a multi-disciplinary design firm founded in 2007 by designers Jamie England and Marcus Williams. The creative co-op offers pro bono design services and education to non-profit organizations in the metro Atlanta area … Currently applying for 501(c)(3) non- profit status, WE Design Atlanta’s educational services include bi-monthly Adobe Illustrator workshops held at WonderRoot Community Arts Center, as well as eco-friendly bookbinding classes … Available for sale on Amazon.com as well as through select retailers in Atlanta, FORM is a realization of WE Design Atlanta’s mission to give voice to fledging arts-based organizations and individuals seeking to be seen, heard and respected in society at large … The organization’s works have been featured in Creative Loafing, DailyCandy.com, ApartmentTherapy.com and more.
Check out their portfolio for a sample of their work, including multiple designs for WonderRoot, the FORM book release at Eyedrum, and No Excuses Bike Shop (which in turn is a partnership between Sopo Bike Co-op and the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless).
